Our Elders, Now We Must Lead the Way

Over the last fifteen years I've guided my grandmother, mother and father, all separately, through the final stages of their lives. This encompasses an, at times, trying journey from independence to senior housing, to assisted living, to nursing homes and, ultimately, passing on.

It does not have to be as hard as it so often is, even the dying part, as I learned through the gift of my hospice experience with my father. My intention and hope with what I offer here is to ease this passage for you and your elders, while perhaps creating ways to turn it to good, that continually flow forward, and is a tribute to their love for you.

"Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak whispers the o'er-fraught heart and bids it break." --William Shakespeare
